Pacmate Omni: Thoughts and experiences

Just wondering if anyone has obtained the newest upgrade to the Pacmate called the Omni, and what your thoughts and experiences have been?

Oh, it's just a PDA in a big box. Actually, Lou is it out now? One thinkg I willl give them is that they have been smart enough to upgrade to wm6, a current operating system unlike there competitor that insists on older more out of date operating systems. I wonder how long they will be able to support devices in that configuration. Let's hope the next addition of keysoft shows some intelegents and a newer operating system.

John, they were supposed to begin shippin in September, and I've already seen price quotes for one of my consumers on the product. Don't know if its hit the streets yet.

I haven't heard about the Omni being available yet. Nothing has been published on the FS Web site saying it is shipping, so I would say it is not shipping yet. I eagerly await it though. I have immensely enjoyed my PAC Mate 4.1 so far. Do you know what we have to do to get our omnis when they do start coming out? Do we send in our current PAC Mates first?

That's what I understood. You send in your old one, and you get the new one. If I recall, you can get them discounted if you have a hardware or software agreement. (The hardware agreement costs more to buy, but you get a bigger discount.) Hope that helps a tad.
